COST Action “Constitution-making and deliberative democracy” (CA17135)

Constitution-making and deliberative democracy” (CA17135, CONSTDELIB), is a 4-year (2018 – 20222) Action of the international organization COST Association (39 member states) funded by the European Union. The overall aim of the Action is research on issues of deliberative democracy (theoretical and empirical approaches), especially in relation to the drafting, approving, and/or amending constitutional provisions. 

CEDLAW participates through its Director, Assoc. Prof. Ioannis Papadopoulos, and the Head of Operations & Research, Dr. Alexandros Kyriakidis, having been appointed as the two representatives of Greece at the Management Committee of the Action and, after unanimous decision by the 114 members of the Committee, as 2 of the 12 members of the Core Group of the Action.

The most important activity of cooperation between CEDLAW and the Action was the organization of the international, 3-day conference “Democracy in Crisis“, which took place in Athens and also constituted the kick-off conference of the Action.
